Our Story...

Food has always formed a huge part of my life- from family functions, to drifting off dreaming up recipes. I'm the friend that turns up with a cake at any opportunity- "It's your aunts cat's birthday? I must bake!". I truly believe it feeds more than just the stomach, it feeds the heart. Because as cheesy as it sounds, when I cook I pour love and care into every dish I create.
Food used to be more than just a dish on the table (or a pot on the go!) It was community, family, an event. I want to reignite those traditions of spending time together, hearing stories old and new; creating memories through creating something magical in the kitchen. Often, in our fast paced lives, we don't know where to begin and that is where I come in.
C+C, is about finding freedom for all. Vibrant, natural dishes that are exciting, and always a little indulgent: this is food that nourishes the body, but feeds the soul.

Feeding the soul? Ok, explain...
Eliminating food groups has become popular in recent years as a way for industries to sell old concepts in new packaging- think recycled restrictive diets in pretty wellness front covers. Vice magazine stated 'if the only "good food" within wellness is the kind that won't make you fat, wellness doesn't look so different from dieting'. For many this can be a steps close to, or into, disordered eating, negative self image and for many, life threatening mental illness.
When the world talks about health, what majoritively is being referred to is the size of our bodies- a societally driven ideal of thinness- not our health. I champion that health is WHOLE-istic: it is about our mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Our 'free from' is not about diets: "good" or "bad" foods (there is no moral label to ingredients in our book). The joys of eating should never be compromised by guilt or rules- there cannot be health with compromised mental health. I want food to be a journey for your taste-buds and eyes, free of fear, and full of excitement; food should be your privilege, not your prison.
